This is the appointment for a coat that does not need cutting. No clip, no pattern work — just a proper wash and the drying technique that decides whether a curl coat looks defined or looks like a cotton ball for a week.
We use our own sulfate-free Curl Definition shampoo at pH 6.4, worked through the coat in the direction of curl growth rather than scrubbed against it. If you have a product your dog’s skin is already happy with, bring it — either is fine, and we would rather not change what is working. A light conditioner goes on from mid-shaft to tip, never at the roots.
Then the part that matters: a warm towel wrap, and a slow handheld blow-out worked in sections at medium heat. Rushing this step, or using a high-velocity cage dryer, is what turns a defined curl into frizz. We do neither.
Mid-cycle refreshes between full grooms, dogs whose clip length is still good but whose coat is dull or dusty, and anyone who wants their dog to look their best for a particular week without changing the cut.
No line-item surprises. The price we quote is the price on the receipt — coat condition add-ons are agreed upfront at check-in, not discovered at pickup.
Weight is our proxy for coat volume. We weigh on arrival and confirm the tier before we start — no retroactive upsells.
You drop off, we text. The 90 minutes are structured so your dog never sits waiting in a kennel — they go from your hands straight to the table.
If yours isn’t here, send us a note — we usually reply the same day.
All services share the same no-cage-dryer policy. Booking two on the same day is fine — we’ll sequence them so your dog only comes in once.
Appointments fill about two weeks out — book now and we’ll confirm within a few hours. No deposit for first-time bookings.
