Most salons solve matting with a blade. It is fast, it is cheap for them, and it costs you the curl pattern for the next four months. We work knots out by hand instead, using a comb progression from wide to fine, section by section, starting at the tips and moving toward the root — which is the opposite of what feels intuitive and the reason hand de-matting takes forty-five minutes.
The appointment starts with an honest assessment. If a coat is so densely matted that hand work would hurt more than it helps, we will tell you that at check-in and offer a short clip instead. We do not judge — a Cavapoo that has not been brushed in three weeks is a normal dog with a busy owner — but we also do not pretend a coat can be saved when it cannot.
Undercoat comes out with a rake and a slicker used at the correct angle, never dragged flat through a curl. Once the coat is clear, we bath, hand dry and check the pattern has come back.
Any curly or wavy coat carrying knots, felted patches behind the ears or under the arms, or a dead undercoat that will not brush out at home. Frequently booked alongside a Full Curl Groom — booking both on the same day is fine and your dog only comes in once.
No line-item surprises. The price we quote is the price on the receipt — coat condition add-ons are agreed upfront at check-in, not discovered at pickup.
Weight is our proxy for coat volume. We weigh on arrival and confirm the tier before we start — no retroactive upsells.
You drop off, we text. The 90 minutes are structured so your dog never sits waiting in a kennel — they go from your hands straight to the table.
If yours isn’t here, send us a note — we usually reply the same day.
All services share the same no-cage-dryer policy. Booking two on the same day is fine — we’ll sequence them so your dog only comes in once.
Appointments fill about two weeks out — book now and we’ll confirm within a few hours. No deposit for first-time bookings.
